Graduation
Class of 2026
Graduation Dress Code Information
Any student who needs assistance with clothing for graduation or other senior events may contact the AHS administration (Mrs. Winterbottom, Mr. Todd, Mr. McCracken) or the Guidance Staff (Ms. Madensky, Ms. Hearn, Ms. Tyler). Students who show up for any of these events wearing inappropriate clothing will not be allowed to participate.
Graduation is a dignified ceremony. Seniors will wear their cap and gowns for graduation. Underneath their gowns, seniors should wear semi-formal clothing (for example: button down dress shirt and slacks, mid-length dresses).
Boys MUST have a WHITE collared shirt, DARK dress pants (navy or black), a DARK colored tie, and DARK shoes (navy, black, or brown).
Girls should attach the white collar to their gown (provided with the gown from Jostens), prior to arriving at school for the ceremony. Girls should wear a mid-length dress or skirt and blouse and DARK shoes (navy, black) shoes. Nude colored shoes are NOT dark, therefore, they are not allowed.
NO Flip-flops, tennis shoes, or work boots should be worn!
NO jeans or khaki pants!
Mortar boards (the top of your cap) should NOT be decorated!
Please do not place the AHS administrative team in the predicament of having to remove students from events due to failure to follow dress code requirements. The general rule: if you have any doubt regarding an outfit (if it is borderline or you are just unsure), err on the side of caution and/or contact an administrator or guidance counselor to discuss the matter.
