Student Council
Student council is an organization of elected members to represent the student body, organize school events, fundraise, and engage in community service. To join, students run for a particular office (president, vice president, secretary, or senator) in their grade level. For more information, see Mrs. Thomas, the sponsor for Student Council.
Roles and responsibilities
- Representation: Acting as the voice of the student body to the administration and faculty.
- Event Planning: Organizing events like Spirit Week, dances, and community service projects.
- School Spirit: Promoting a positive school culture through various activities and events.
- Leadership Development: Providing opportunities for students to develop leadership, cooperation, and citizenship skills.
- Community Involvement: Participating in community service events such as canned food drives, coat drives, and fundraising for charities like Relay For Life.
- School Improvement Council: Select members are on the SIC along with parents, educators, and community members, to collaborate on student success initiatives.
